Serena Williams' Stalker Arrested Outside Her Home

A man suspected of stalking Serena Williams was arrested outside her house on Monday night.


The Daily Mail is reporting that Patenema Ouedraogo was caught on the grounds of Williams' Florida home.


According to police, Ouedraogo, 40, tried to walk into the tennis player's estate but was stopped by security guards.


When Ouedraogo was identified, police realized that he had been named by Williams as a suspected stalker. Love letters that he had written for Williams were also found on him.

The tennis player was not at her home at the time as she was in New York attending the Met Gala.

Ouedraogo has been charged stalking and cyber-stalking and his bail has been set at $25,000. It is also reported that should he make bail, he would immediately be placed under house arrest.

Last month, Williams went to court to take an injunction out against Ouedraogo. He was well known to the tennis player's security team as a potential stalker and Williams' has said that she is "terrified" of him.

Ouedraogo had previously pretended he was Williams' assistant when she appeared on the Home Shopping Network last month and even got access to her dressing room, before he was identified and escorted out of the premises.

Williams, 29, had taken a temporary restraining order against Ouedraogo. However, as he was never found, it could not be served to him.

Ouedraogo has now been ordered to stay at least 500 feet from Williams.

Actress Yvette Vickers' Mummified Body Found in Her Home

Actress and former Playboy Playmate Yvette Vickers' mummified body was found in her Beverly Hills home last week, nearly a year after her death.


Vickers was best known for her bit roles in B-movies of the 1950's like 'Attack of the 50-Foot Woman' and was the Playboy Playmate in July 1959.


The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Vickers, 82, was not seen for a long time and one of her neighbors, actress Susan Savage, went to check on her after noticing old letters and cobwebs in her mailbox.


Savage said, "The letters seemed untouched and were starting to yellow. I just had a bad feeling."

After Savage pushed open a barricaded front gate and scaling a hillside, she entered through a broken window after seeing a shock of blond hair, which turned out to be a wig.

Savage said the inside of the house was in disrepair and it was hard to move between the rooms as boxes containing clothes, junk mail and letters formed barriers.

She eventually found Vickers in a room upstairs and while Savage had known the actress for a long time, she said that the remains were unrecognizable.

"We've all been crying about this. Nobody should be left alone like that," Savage said.

The police have said that the body's mummified state suggests that Vickers could have been dead for close to a year.

The police have also said that while the official cause of death is still to be determined, they do not suspect foul play.

IMDB states that Vickers was divorced twice and she had an on-and-off 15-year relationship with the late actor Jim Hutton, the father of Timothy Hutton.

Superman Renounces U.S. Citizenship?

A controversial move was made in the world of comics this week with Superman, of all people, threatening to give up his American citizenship.

The Los Angeles Times reported that in the latest issue of Action Comics, Clark Kent's alter ego decides he's had enough, after the Secret Service reprimands the superhero for appearing at a non-violent protest against the Iranian government.

"I intend to speak before the United Nations tomorrow and inform them that I am renouncing my U.S. citizenship," the Man of Steel says. "I'm tired of having my actions construed as instruments of U.S. policy."

He also indicates that his famous motto is too narrow: "'Truth, justice and the American way' -- it's not enough anymore," he explains. "The world is too small, too connected."

It's often assumed Superman is American, having been raised by adoptive parents in Kansas. But he was born on the fictional planet Krypton, so his citizenship could technically have always been up for grabs. Still, many are unhappy with the mere threat. A Weekly Standard blogger called this latest development the dumbest thing DC Comics could do: "What does 'citizen of the Universe' even mean?"
"Will Superman now adhere to the Tamaran code of honor?" writer Jonathan Last lamented, "Will he follow the Atlantean system of monarchy? Does he believe in liberté, égalité, fraternité, or sharia? Does he believe in British interventionism, or Swiss neutrality? You see where I'm going with this: If Superman doesn't believe in America, then he doesn't believe in anything."

On the other hand, Last argued that there shouldn't be too much cause for concern because the move is likely temporary (he points out that Captain America once renounced his country, too).

Indeed, DC Comics co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan Didio already issued a statement to the New York Post, reinforcing Superman's inherent identification with America:

"Superman is a visitor from a distant planet who has long embraced American values. As a character and an icon, he embodies the best of the American Way."

The statement also said, "In a short story in ACTION COMICS 900, Superman announces his intention to put a global focus on his never-ending battle, but he remains, as always, committed to his adopted home and his roots as a Kansas farm boy from Smallville."

(Meanwhile, American director Zack Snyder just chose Brit actor Henry Cavill to take over from 2006 'Superman Returns' star Brandon Routh, for an upcoming reboot film.)
