Obama Heads to Chicago for Oprah, NYC for Money

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is helping his pal Oprah Winfrey wrap up her syndicated talk show in style.

Obama was heading home to Chicago on Wednesday to appear on one of the final episodes of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." The talk-show host and Obama supporter has announced that she is ending her top-rated TV program on May 25 after a quarter-century on the air.

Obama's wife, Michelle, was joining him on Oprah's couch for the interview, which is scheduled to be televised Monday.

The president's day of politicking was continuing later Wednesday in New York with his first fundraising sweep of the city since he announced his re-election bid this month. Three Democratic Party fundraisers were scheduled across midtown Manhattan, including an event at the home of financier and former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine and a dinner at The Waldorf-Astoria hotel. Obama was not due back at the White House until the wee hours of Thursday.

Winfrey's relationship with the Obamas dates to their days in Chicago.

Most notably, she lent her credibility and celebrity status to his 2008 presidential campaign with her first-ever political endorsement. She joined him at campaign rallies that drew supporters by the thousands, raised money for him and cheered for him at the Democratic National Convention.

On election night, she was seen weeping in the crowd during Obama's victory speech in downtown Chicago.

"Her show is coming to a conclusion of a terrific run," White House spokesman Jay Carney said. Obama "considers Oprah a friend and he looks forward to being on the show."

Corzine, who lost his political job in 2009 despite Obama's efforts to help him get re-elected, is a former chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs. He has deep ties to the financial industry, which felt battered by Obama's rhetoric blaming the financial crisis on "fat cat" Wall Street bankers. The industry also chafed at the subsequent overhaul of financial regulations.

Corzine now heads MF Global Inc., a financial services firm, and Obama has begun trying to repair his relations with the business sector.

From Corzine's home, Obama heads to Park Avenue for a dinner at The Waldorf-Astoria, followed by a concert-style event at the Town Hall theater primarily for his younger supporters and featuring The Roots, a hip-hop band from Philadelphia.

Since he became a candidate for re-election on April 4, Obama has embarked on an aggressive inaugural fundraising tour that included three events in Chicago on April 14 and six events in two days last week in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Obama raised $750 million for the 2008 campaign and hopes to top that for his re-election.

It looks like Johnny Depp will return to his old stomping ground. The actor will reportedly film a small cameo for the big-screen reboot of '21 Jump Street.'

A source revealed to EW.com that it's likely Depp will stop by for an uncredited cameo in movie, but no other details have been released.

Depp starred in the '80s crime-fighting TV show, in which young-looking undercover cops helped crack teen crime. The updated movie version, which was co-written by 'Get Him to the Greek' star Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, places a slimmed-down Hill and Channing Tatum in the lead roles.

"It's an entirely new imagination of what '21 Jump Street' is," Hill told MTV News last year. "We're not doing a spoof whatsoever. It will be crazy characters that are in very unreal circumstances sometimes."

Hill hoped that Depp would consider popping in for a cameo.

"Hopefully, he does it...It would be awesome if he did," Hill said, and in a separate interview, Depp soon followed up by saying, "It could be very funny...I'm in, I'm in."

Filming on '21 Jump Street' movie started this week in New Orleans.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Grant has been on a series of dates with his rumored new Chinese girlfriend Tinglan Hong.

The actor met Hong, 32, last year and is said to have been dating her since January.

The couple were seen out over the weekend in London and in a particular photo, it appeared that Hong had a rounded belly, leading to speculation that she may be pregnant with Grant's child.

A friend of the actor told News of the World (as reported by Heatworld.com), "Hugh and Ting have grown increasingly close in recent months. They see each other most days and she's a big part of his life."

But the friend is cautious on whether the notoriously single Grant, 50, would settle down with Hong. "He's still a free spirit. Ting's a lovely girl, smart and very attractive. She and Hugh love spending time together. But as ever he's a very difficult man to nail down. And although they're increasingly close, Ting's aware that he still goes out with other girls. Yes, he sees Ting all the time, but it's normally on his terms -- at his house or bars and restaurants nearby. Hugh has always been a bit of a commitment-phobe. He just loves doing his own."

Grant's best known relationship was with actress Elizabeth Hurley. The couple were together for 13 years but it ended in 2000, five years after he was caught cheating with a prostitute named Divine Brown. The pair parted amicably and remain close friends.

Hurley recently revealed that she could see herself living together with the actor "if all else fails."

Charlie Sheen is on the last leg of his live 'Torpedo of Truth' tour, but still has plenty to say.

On Saturday night, he revealed startling news about his love life to a crowd in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (many of whom reportedly scored tickets after Sheen offered them free on Twitter), confessing that he was down to just one "goddess," because porn star Bree Olson left him.

And she dumped him via text message, according to RadarOnline.com. During a Q&A segment, an audience member reportedly asked the fired 'Two and Half Men' star how he and his two"goddesses" were doing. The actor replied, "Not well, because one left." Sheen wished Olson well, but did admit that her goodbye arrived in a text.

Olson, 23, and Natalie Kenly, 24, had been making cameos together on stage during Sheen's live tour stops, often making out in the spotlight.

Just one night before Sheen delivered his break-up news, he was onstage in Tampa pleading for support in resuming his lucrative sitcom career. Comic Jeffrey Ross was on hand with roast-style zingers like, "You made your dad ashamed to share the same fake name with you," (Martin Sheen's real surname is Estevez) and a crack about Hosni Mubarek having better odds of getting his job back.

Yet the 45-year-old TV star, who once ranted on every medium he could find about 'Two and a Half Men,' sounded unusually hopeful about his future on CBS. "With your support, with a room full of love," Sheen told the crowd, "we are going to get my job back."

(Nevermind the fact that lawyers for Warner Bros. TV just issued a statement denying any such thing: "There have been no discussions, there are no discussions, and there will be no discussions regarding his returning to, or having any involvement in, the series.")

The St. Petersburg Times reports that more than a third of the 3,000 seat venue in Tampa was empty. When a woman in the audience flashed Sheen, he replied, "You know you're at a Charlie Sheen show when it's Good Friday and there's nudity....It's Great Friday."
