Lady Gaga has spoken out about the Amy Winehouse’s tragic death and told fans not to ‘kill the superstar’.
The kooky American, who admitted she didn’t know the British soul icon, made her appeal while talking about the Back To Black singer.
The 25-year-old Judas singer said: ‘It's a lesson to the world. Don't kill the superstar, take care of her soul.’
Gaga also said she loved Amy ‘so much’ and revealed that she used to get mistaken for the soul singer before she became famous.
Speaking about Amy, who died on Saturday, Lady Gaga said: ‘I was nobody when she was first coming out. I would be on the street and people would go "Amy"'.
‘I just remember feeling like I wasn't alone because she was so different.’
The Born This Way singer made the comments during an interview on U.S. radio show, Omaha 94.1 Radio yesterday.

She also paid tribute to the singer on her Twitter page and posted: ‘Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues.’
Amy’s family and friend’s gathered to say their goodbyes to the singer at the funeral service at the Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London today, before making their way to Golders Green crematorium.

Mr Winehouse, who broke down in tears at the service, spoke on behalf of his ex-wife Janis and their son Alex and insisted Amy had made a ‘fantastic recovery'.
The family now face a four-week wait to discover how Miss Winehouse actually died following a post-mortem examination and toxicology tests, but are now making plans to set up a foundation in their daughter’s name to help struggling drug addicts.
Mourning together: Many of Amy's close friends and family including Kelly Osbourne and Dionne Bromfield joined together to celebrate the singer's life
Remembering Amy: A shrine of gifts, flowers, cards and art work as well as beer cans and vodka bottles have been left outside Amy's house by mourning fans
